Orange County Web Design and Developer
Action Internet Marketing is one of the leading web design and development companies in Orange County and serves primarily all of Southern California, but has served several nationwide clients as well. Our Website Design philosophy is simple…. Get More With Less.
What’s Considered in a Web Design?
When it comes to a website design, we first evaluate the type of business you have before we ever sit down for our No-Cost Consultation. We want you to understand the importance of web design and then determine why you need a website and how to best utilize it, as well as the addition of Search Engine Optimization and Analytics. We have the belief that, other than the E-Commerce Website, there are three types of websites:
The “Just Because” Site. This is the type of client that doesn’t really care if they have a site or not, but in today’s society, even they realize that if you don’t have a site, potential clients see you as being behind the times and will often pass on you. Have you ever wanted to go to a new restaurant, but before going you went to check out their website to see what they have to offer, but only to find that they don’t have a website? Be honest, did you question why not?
The “Tool Belt” Site. This is the type of site where our clients use their site as another tool in their tool belt. Meaning there is a purpose for this site’s use. Often is the case that the client will want to refer potential clients to their site to complete certain forms or to refer to the client’s offerings, which may include sizing, various items to check off, or in the case of a medical site, they may list symptoms, along with at-home remedies. The list goes on.
The “Portfolio” Site. This is the client that has something to show. They want viewers to see their work. This is generally the type of site that a photographer would use, as well as a videographer, a home designer, a flooring company, a landscaper, a personal trainer, and more. Do you remember back before the internet existed and when you met with a wedding photographer to review those giant portfolio books? And what did you do if was a destination wedding, such as Hawaii? Not anymore. Your work can be viewed right from the comfort of their own home or even on their phones while out having coffee. It’s a Game Changer.
The Four Steps of a Web Design
We have the ability to add all kinds of bells and whistles to your website if that’s what you prefer, but we have found that most often if you have too many, you risk losing your potential client’s interest. The goal of Action Internet Marketing is to focus on four particular areas on the Home Page:
Grab the Viewer’s Attention – Unless they have been directed to your site, a viewer determines within seconds of the first look whether or not they will stay on the site or not. Don’t confuse them. Don’t make it so they have no idea what you are offering. You need something that’s going to grab their immediate attention, just enough so that they begin to scroll down and/or click on your menu links. If they never make it this far, the rest of your site is pretty meaningless.
Make a Claim – Don’t be afraid to be proud. Make a claim about your business and/or your services. If you’re good enough to be in business, let others know. If they are searching the internet for what you have to offer, they want to feel they are making the best choice for them. Why shouldn’t that be you? If you believe in what you have to offer, clients will believe in you too.
Ease Their Pain – Once you have their attention, you want to connect directly to your viewer and understand why they are there. Connect with them by feeling and identifying their pain and then directly tell them how you can ease it for them. If you make that connection, they will continue to view your site.
Call to Action – More people lose business because they simply don’t ask for someone’s business. You have already led them to this point, now ask for their business with a Call to Action. “Sign Up Now,” “Get Your Free Material Today,” or “Schedule Your Appointment Here,” just to name a few examples.
